I have started working on a module that will be playable by about 1-6 players, that will hopefully parallel the PW, and provide a few glimpses into parts of the ZS world - namely from the Thorpe's standpoint. I have posted this thread for futher discussion of the topic, please keep spoilers here to a minimum, as I would rather not give away the storylines. In short - the players were/are residents of the Thorpe of Sanaire, which was hugely devestated by zombie attacks, as the PCs quickly find, much of the town is destroyed, and zombies walk the streets and burnt out houses, expect to see one round every bend kind of thing. Beyond that - I'm not giving away any more spoilers except to say the module will be story-orientated, yet (hopefully) not linear or confining to the player(s). There will be a considerable amount of hack'n'slash - and that it will approximate the same ruleset as the PW.

Some screenshots... The first set are from the above ground area where I have placed the church, it is so far unoccupied, so - I still got some work to do on it yet... The hidden trap door below leeds to a remnant, located beneath the church. Inside looks something like this... Below is a small weapons cache and armoury... I would like to know if I am accurately capturing the theme and feel of ZS in what I am doing here, any suggestions on ways to improve what you see would be helpfull to me, as I have only surface knowledge on the inner workings of ZS, and have never played it - so for the most part I am guessing how it should look.

I like the areas and the 'feeling' you've put into them in general. There's a strong undead vibe going on and the lighting fits in perfectly. Some of the shadows come off a bit unnaturally (Maybe needs some tweaking of shadow settings for the individual lights..lowering them somewhat) but otherwise it's just great. It might be good to add something to spice up the areas more, like gory scenes filled with blood and bones and some placeables to fill up the corridors and rooms some. You're doing a marvelous job in any case. Keep it up !

The shadows are - imo - supposed to be really intense - this is because I wanted them to really dance - but yes I do agree - they look somewhat unnatural, finding a balance will be difficult, as for story line and atmosphere - I wanted the shadows to obfuscating a lot of the scene - since this makes it easier to miss a lot of the hidden things I intend putting in. I will however take your advice on it, and see if I can tweak them in such a way to look both more natural, and still concealing of some of the things I wanted concealed. As for the corpses - I had not wanted to put any inside the the actuall tunnels, but on the surface - definately, I could - if I stretch my imagination, imagine some corpses on the top floor of the tunnels, particularily around the entrance, and might even take you up on the suggestion... I've done only a little more work, and have made a tavern, which is not far from the entrance. It is called The Four Preists, and is owned and operated by, imaginativly, four preists. Here are some more screens of the area

forgive me, but that tavern looks huge to be in an underground cavern. Even if the drow did it. I would think that anything defensible would be smaller, but it is your mod, so go for what you think fits.

I would very happily agree with you jojo - and after a few things have majorly shaken up the whole thing - I might even be remaking much of it again later. The tavern itself is a total of 9 map squares - so yeah - it is 30x30meters, but eventually it will be more than just a tavern - it will be a hang-out for the top floor gaurds, and travellers who came past the church - so if I made it any smaller - it would get pretty crowded in there is all. But I'll keep what you said in mind, and maybe shrink it down to 2x3 or 2x2 with an alcove somewhere that will function as the bar.
