These questions haven't actually been asked very frequently, but I think they are something the community would like to have some information presented of.
1. Will roleplaying on the server be obligatory ?
It will be required that you behave yourself while playing with others. We do highly encourage you to take part in roleplaying activities and reply to other characters in-character. Playing on Zombie Survival is about coming to terms with other people and understanding they too want to have fun. Everyone has their own playing style and that should be respected, but when you cross the line and step on someone else's feet while having a good time yourself, it's time to take a step back and rethink your actions. We all make mistakes sometimes, but we are to learn from them.
2. What is the maximum level my character will get to be ?
You most likely won't get past level 2. If you do manage to do that, however, level 3 will be much harder already. Much, much harder. The difficulty level of the opponents in the areas is relative to your level, so the difficulty will still be much the same. You'll just get access to some new feats, spells and skills. So there's a little something for all you hardcore survivalists to strive for without making it a walk in the ballpark. Heh.
3. Will different classes get any special items or feats ?
We have tried to minimize the impact your class has in deciding what you can or can't do. You can be an ex-monk herbalist if you wanted to, we're not going to force you to be a druid to be able to boil some herbs. You decide what your character wanted to do with his or her life and that means you have many more choices available in contrast to fewer, more specific roles.
4. Will the worldmap be a travellable area in itself or a normal map ?
We have been experimenting with both for over a year. There is no concensus yet as to which one has more benefits. Currently the topic is in hibernation and we're waiting for other features to be finished before returning to decide on this conclusively.
5. Will players be required to fill in a 'character application' in order to play ?
No, absolutely not. We don't like the idea of harassing our players with forced biographies and because of simple technical reasons, never will. Death is something every player will have to answer to. Having to write a lengthy background for all characters before even visiting the server is just plain unreasonable. If you wish to write a biography for others to see, and maybe for yourself to have a reference and a place to keep track of your character's history on the server, feel free to do so, not obliged.
6. Does Zombie Survival 2 need more DM staff ?
We have a small team of highly trained dungeon dwellers and grey-bearded small wizards we picked off the street. We are very confident they will be able to handle the traffic on the server when it goes live, but when the need arises we will recruit additional DMs to work long and arduous hours with no pay at all. (We're not sure what wizards usually like to eat, but we're going to try feeding them some bananas since the coding monkeys love those at least..)
7. When is it going to be finished ?!
It's going to be finished when it's done. No sooner or later, unless something drastic happens. There are some speculations the launch date might be sometime in January or February, but in the end it's all up to how much spare time the development team will have with a gigantic work-load with incorporating features, fixing bugs, adding areas and painting fancy UI visuals and searching the vault for portraits for our non-player characters..and of course creating cut-scenes.
8. Will more questions be added to this FAQ as players request more information ?
Yes, definitely. Ask away any questions and eventually they might end up being answered here for all to see! Thank you.
