It looks good, but are the zombies all going to be the generic rotting-flesh green ones? In the ZS mod I played in NWN, there were many different variations on the zombies, some were peasants, nobles, children and a few were militia (presumably because the militia could protect themselves).

Hello jojo and welcome to the forums !
We're currently working on other systems and the zombies are pretty much only in as placeholding material for testing purposes. At the moment there are only six different kinds of appearances for the zombies that we use, but with tinting, scaling and fully customized attributes and equipment available in the toolset you will definitely not get the 'clone wars' effect once we get that part nailed down. There will be other races you will encounter in the world than just zombies, including but not limited to skeletons, shadows and possibly animals (of the undead kind ?).
It is possible that the humanoid zombies will return to compliment the loss of variety (But I have my doubts).

Okay, I was also wondering if you guys (unless there's just you) have any sort of base material that you are using as a guide. I have a book about surviving in a more modern setting, and it is fantastic, you can see the site here, www.randomhouse.com/crown/zombiesurvivalguide/ It offers lots of easily implemented information on zombies and zombie hunting.

Base material = our brains.
Zombie survival guide, read that one half a year ago, it doesn't really suit nwn setting, so probably not going to use that alot.

We will use what information we can gather from the web to touch up the zombies from time to time, yes. Most of this information won't be known to new players joining the world however, but they'll have to live and adapt to the surroundings. This doesn't mean we won't list a few of the most important aspects of gameplay on the forums (As characters in the world would know a little something about the zombie outbreak and handy survival tips; they wouldn't be alive if they didn't) Right now, however, we're mostly trying to get everything working tip-top before delving into the storyline and all that jazz. We're not going to rush this project and deliver something broken or unfinished. Once we've outlined a map, jotted some key destinations down and gotten everything (the server, website, forums) properly setup, we will move on to the next phase of Beta Testing, which will mostly consist of making sure everything is interesting and fun. If it isn't, we will have failed. Well ! That was a bit undertone. I think we've got things rolling forward at a steady pace, great stuff to happen in the next few months.
