Currently the Zombie Survival PW for NwN 2 is under construction and is not available to the public.
Players will need to download Audolo, a program that allows for easy setup of all the required files to play on the server. It can be downloaded from the Neverwinter Vault, here :
nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2Tools.Detail&id=5
Please check the thread titled 'Getting to the server - READ THIS' for more instructions on how to get everything you need.
If you're interested in the project, we do accept new recruits to the team, especially area designers. I am the lead scripter for the module, Raivo is the second-in-charge developer, Xachriel is the forum manager, and in addition we have a web designer, Mik4. A small but powerful team of DMs has been trained to handle all the server events and quests with technical help from the development sector (Including but not limited to incorporating the DMFI and other handy systems).
We will strive to enhance the gameplay and keep up with the atmosphere of our predecessors. We're importing features from previous Zombie Survival modules to NwN 2. With the new, powerful toolset the areas will look generally much better than what we would see in the days of NwN.
Features such as backgrounds for characters entering the world and skills and abilities are planned. We look forward to give players the chance to experience true survival horror in a setting that discourages powergaming and approves of good sportsmanship and roleplay. Gain a reputation and people will learn to like you and help you on your adventures, ignore others and you will most likely not survive for too long.
To survive in the world of ZS, one must always keep in mind they have needs as humans (and other races) do. You need to eat to keep yourself in good health. You must also avoid getting your brains eaten. If something seems risky, you must think through if it's really worth the trouble. Remember, you only have one life to live and a legion of zombies are there to get you.
The best way to survive is to ask other players for advice. They might help you, or might not. (If you're knee-deep in trouble, consider asking them through the 'tell' channel) Because of the dangers lurking around co-op gameplay is encouraged. Evil alignments are welcome as long as a mutual respect towards other players is maintained. We will try to make the most out of the engine to support roleplaying.
We do NOT take PKing (people killing) lightly. If you're causing trouble on the server you can rest assured you will be banned from the forums as well as the server. If you're planning on killing off someone, remember notifying them about this, and wait for approval from the player in question ! Always try to have an extremely good reason for killing others. Although the world is a rough place and resources are few and far between, be careful about going above your head. People will not tolerate just any kind of behavior. You can and will be banned if complaints start to pile up.
Keep in mind that the point is to have FUN ! Socializing with other characters is largely what Zombie Survival is about. Making friends and helping each other out. Using the 'tell' channel is encouraged to welcome beginners to the world. The other channels are meant for in-game ROLEPLAY. Please do not use the other channels for anything but in-game chat, not even the party channel. While this is not monitored by the staff currently, if ever, this is something we do not approve of and you can be banned for breaking other people's roleplaying by using internet slang terms like 'u', 'omg' or 'lol' in public. If you can't refrain from such practise, then do it somewhere very private.
This board will be updated as things get more clear on our end. If you've got 'newbie' questions, post them to the Beginner's Board.
